The respective district election officers cum collectors across the state issued the notification for the three tier panchayat polls on Monday as per the scheduled programme issued by State Election Commission, Chhattisgarh.
The notification for the reservation and polling centres list was also published. The reservation will be held for the three-tier, at village Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Zila Panchayat.
The security deposit of Panch post is Rs 50, while Sarpanch is Rs 1000 where as for Janpad Panchayat member the amount is Rs 2000. The amount fixed for Zila Panchayat member is Rs 4000. For the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Community and woman candidate, the amount will be just 50 percent of the fixed security deposit. Except for Panch, in all other posts the nomination should accompany with affidavit in specified format, which is certified by Notary. A candidate can file nomination paper for Panch, Sarpanch, Janpad member or zila Panchayat member but cannot file more than one nomination for a single post in more than one place.
The three-phase polling is scheduled on January 28, January 31 and February 3, 2020.
The polling will be held for all the Gram Panchayats, the tenure of which is scheduled to end on February 2020, including all the new village panchayat after delimitation, for members of Janpad Panchayat and Zila Panchayat.
The last date for filing of nomination papers is January 6, 2020 for all the three phases while the nominations will be reviewed next day (January 7). The last date for withdrawal of nomination paper is January 9, 2020 till 3.00 pm.
