Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday said nine districts of the State have set the goal of becoming malaria free this year.
This came out in the meeting of the Malaria Working Committee, Haryana held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Rajeev Arora, here.
Arora said that districts Ambala, Fatehabad, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Mahendragarh, Rewari and Sonepat will be made malaria free. For this, the department has started work at large scale to curb vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya japanese encephalitis in the state.
Mission Director, National Health Mission, Haryana, Amneet P. Kumar, Director General Health Service, Dr. Satish Aggarwal, Director of Vectore Borne Diseases, Dr. Usha Gupta, Civil Surgeons of all the districts and other senior officers were present.
