The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has started the ‘Initial Pile Load Test for Civil Structures’ in Delhi- Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor on Wednesday.
Notably, Delhi Government has recently given approval for the construction this corridor.
“Initial Load Pile test is done to check the ground strength and to observe how much weight the land/soil (ground) can take. Also, through this test, engineers will come to know how deep they can dig to construct pillar and how much weight the pillar can bear,” said a NCRTC official.
First Pile load test was initiated on Tuesday near Mohan Nagar Flyover in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad in presence of NCRTC Managing Director Vinay K Singh and other senior officers.
“RRTS is being implemented for the first time in the country and this test is very crucial in determining the type of civil structures, it will require for high-speed train operation (180 KM per hour ), on a viaduct,” said the official.
