Naxals involved in killing of DD News camera person held

Three Naxals, who were involved in an attack on police party at Nilavaya in Dantewada last year wherein a camera person of DD News was killed, were arrested, police said here on Sunday.

 In a separate action, three more Naxals were nabbed from Geedam weekly market in Dantewada.

“Two of the three Naxals held in Nailavaya carried a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each on their heads. They were part of Naxal team which had attack security forces in a forested patch about 1.5 km away from Nilavaya wherein three jawans and a camera-person of DD News was killed on October 31, 2018,” a police officer said.

 The arrested ultras include a woman. They were identified as Hunga Korram (21), Kishor Kumar Madvi (19) and Jogi Korram (20), all residents of Aranpur under Nilavaya police station limits.

Hunga and Madvi were members of Janmilita platoon and carried cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each on their head, while Korram a female carder was a member of Naxal organisation called CNM (Chetna Natya Mandali), police informed.

In a separate development, a team of DRG and Geedam police station force nabbed three Maoists --Sukhdev Beko (30), Fagnu Atami (21) both residents of Nelsanar and Motu (22) of Bhairamgarh Bijapur from a weekly market. Sukhdev was a member of Naxal platoon number 16 and carried a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head while Fagnu Atami was a Janmilita Commander and carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his arrest.
