The Sambalpur University (SU) conducted an awareness programme on the revised accreditation framework of NAAC in the presence of principals of 80 colleges affiliated to it and Internal Quality Assurance Committee (IQAC) members.
The heads of departments (HODs) and IQAC members of the different PG departments of the university and NAAC executive committee members also participated in the programme sponsored by NAAC, Bengaluru.
The resource persons and VC of the university Prof Dr Deepak Kumar Behera explained in details how to get prepared for NAAC accreditation under the revised system.
It aims at action plan for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation and quality up-gradation of institution of higher education, he added.
At present, 70 per cent of evaluation is done on information received online and the rest 30 per cent during the visit of NAAC members.
“If a college or a university can’t qualify in this 70 per cent, a NAAC team will not visit the institution,” Prof Behera said.
Prof Amiya Kumar Rath, Advisor, ICT NAAC, Dr Ruchi Tripathy, Assistant Advisor, ICT NAAC, Dr Sasi Kant Dash, Principal, Tagore Govt Arts and Science College, Puducherry were the other resource persons for the programme organised for the first time in Odisha.
The resource persons focused on the different aspects of this programme and narrated in details how to qualify for NAAC accreditation and preparing for it.
