A 14-year-old girl student of the Purubai Kanyashram in the Soro area of the district was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her hostel on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hemangini Hansdah of Kumarpur village. On the other hand, another girl student of the residential school has been admitted to the Soro hospital in a critical condition. Though it is suspected that the girl died due to food poisoning, the exact reason behind the death can be ascertain after postmortem, said Soro Tehsildar Debi Prasad Das.
Police have registered an unnatural death case into the incident and began an investigation. Meanwhile, the school authorities have failed to give satisfactory answers in connection with the incident, which has raised many eyebrows.
