Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed the development work initiated by Chief Minister Raghubar Das government for the growth and progress of State. Modi, addressing the rally in Left Wing Extremist (LWE) affected Jamua block of Giridih district, soliciting support for NDA candidates in Giridih and Koderma said that NDA government in Jharkhand is doing good job and due to full majority government in the State, mineral rich Jharkhand as well as entire country is moving in the path of development.
Modi also mentioned about starting of first stage of the Hazaribag-Koderma-Barkakana-Ranchi railway line of the East-Central Railway, which he had inaugurated in 2015. The Hazaribag-Koderma-Barkakana-Ranchi railway line project is seeing the ray of light after the gap of nearly 16 years as project was launched during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Modi said, “The first phase of Hazaribag-Koderma-Barkakana-Ranchi, which is seeing ray of light after 16 years will propel trade and commerce in section.” Addressing a huge gathering in Left Wing Extremist (LWE) affected areas of Jumua, he talked about the State Government commitment in thwarting LWE menace in the region. He said, “Earlier, people were afraid of even exercising their franchise, but now the region is witnessing growth in all fronts.” The Prime Minister attacking Congress stated that the grand old party mentions about removing the law on sedition from the statute if voted to power, the stringent law if removed will protect Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and terrorists in country.
As Koderma and Giridih have sizeable population of backwards and extremely backward castes, the Prime Minister also raised the issue of constitution of OBC commission which will address the issue of backward castes in country. The Narendra Modi government in August 2018 passed the 123rd Constitutional Amendment bill that provides constitutional status to the commission for the other backward classes (OBCs).
The Prime Minister, on the occasion, also highlighted the slew of schemes such as opening up of Central School in Koderma, setting up medical and engineering colleges in Koderma, Model College in Giridih and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Deoghar.
Urging the people to reject Congress and its ‘Mahamilawatis’ gang, Modi said that these parties which promotes dynastic politics focused on self interest and gains. Cautioning the people he said, “If the Congress and Mahagathbandhan parties comes to power it will lead to political instability in the country.”
The Narendra Modi rally in Jamua was also show of strength of NDA in State as apart from PM Modi, Chief Minister Raghubar Das, State BJP in-charge Mangal Pandey the BJP candidates from Koderma (Annapurna Devi) and Giridih (Chandra Prakash Chaudhary) were also present at the rally.
The rally was also attended by BJP sitting MPs from Koderma (Ravindra Rai) and Giridih (Ravindra Pandey) sharing the dais with PM.
The BJP this time had replaced Rai and Pandey from Koderma and Giridih seat respectively, while from Koderma former state RJD president Annapurna Devi was given the ticket, Giridih seat went to AJSU party where the party has fielded Chandra Prakash Chaudhary as seat sharing arrangement. Both Pandey and Rai were unhappy after they were denied ticket with the State BJP having a tough time in pacifying the two leaders.
Koderma is going to witness triangular contest as JVM president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi and CPI (ML) Raj Kumar Yadav are in fray.
In Giridih Chaudhary is contesting against JMM’s Dumri MLA Jagarnath Mahato. While Koderma votes on May 6, polling in Giridih is scheduled on May 12.
