Many of newly-elected MLAs, including Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, took oath as members of the 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) on Thursday.
Amar Prasad Satpathy, who had been sworn in as Pro-tem Speaker of the Assembly by Governor Ganeshi Lal at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, administered the oath to the MLAs in the Assembly premises here.
Patnaik took oath as the Leader of the House. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to continue for two days.
