Jehangirabad police have booked a miscreant who duped a 26-year-old girl to the tune of Rs 1 lakh; victim was duped on November 20 in Shivpuri by obtaining OTP fraudulently from the victim.
Vinayaka Kabeerpanthi received message of deduction of Rs 1 lakh when she had gone to her house in Shivpuri. A case of zero FIR was registered by Shivpuri police when the victim lodged a complaint with police. Later the case was transferred to Jehangirabad police. After receiving the case dairy a case under section 420 of the IPC was registered.
In her complaint victim stated that she received a call and on the call the caller posed as bank official and mislead her regarding her SBI bank account with Vallabh Bhawan branch and later asked to provide OTP which she would be receiving and once she received OTP she shared the OTP with fraudster.
Soon after the OTP was provided to the miscreant she received messages of deduction of Rs 1 lakh. She received message of debit of Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 25,000.
The victim failed to understand and when she checked it was found to be fraudulently withdrawn from her SBI bank account Vallabh Bhawan branch.
