Minister directs to improve power distribution system

Set division-wise targets for the maintenance of power distribution system. Review fulfillment of target constantly so that the maintenance work may be completed in the shortest possible time. Energy Minister Priyavrat Singh gave this directive to the officials of the Power Distribution Company.

Energy Minister Singh said that during maintenance, consumers should be informed about power cut through newspapers and SMS.

Public representatives should also be informed about it.

He said that during maintenance power supply should be cut for 4-5 hours as per need so that the employees can work safely on the power lines.

Singh informed that the state has 52,584 km 33 KV Line, 11 KV Line of 4.07 lakh kilometers and low pressure line of 4.22 lakh km. Six thousand 612 power transformers and their safety devices are installed in total 33/11 KV 3,727 sub stations.

About 7 lakh distribution transformers are installed. Maintenance of such a large electrical system is very difficult and its timely completion is very important.
