The problems of the Balangir-based Bhima Bhoi Medical College building have been solved, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das in the State Assembly on Tuesday in a reply to a question by Balangir Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra.
Later, in a review meeting held in the Assembly chamber of Works Minister Prafulla Mallick regarding the college, it was ascertained that the complaints of Mishra have been immediately resolved. The areas in which water leaked have been repaired by the Works Department.
Besides, the process for acquisition of land for hostels for students of the medical college has begun. The Health Minister directed officials to take steps to fill up the required number of teaching and nonteaching staffs in the institution.
Health and Family Welfare Secretary Pramod Meherda, Joint Secretary Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, the Bhima Bhoi Medical College Principal, Balangir CDMO and Chief Engineer Roads and Buildings were present.
