MANIT student suicide case: Daughter murdered, not killed self, claims father

Father of a 21-year-old girl, who committed suicide in Ratibad area by setting herself ablaze on September 9 this year, has alleged that his daughter was murdered and it was not suicide. 

The father of girl, Ramraj Mehra alleged that deceased Lakshika Mehra was harassed by her friend Sunil Tiwari and his girl friend for long and Sunil had also thrown acid on the deceased. The deceased was a student of MTech first year in MANIT.

The deceased was found with burn injuries at Ratibad area on September 9 and later she died on September 19. The deceased in her statements before death claimed that she committed suicide. Later her father raised allegations against Sunil Tiwari.

On reaching here on Friday, Mehra met Superintendent of Police (South) and senior police officials at Police Headquarters (PHQ).

He demanded an action against Sunil. He also informed that Sunil’s girlfriend had warned the deceased to stay away from Sunil. Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man died after he was hit by a speeding train near railway crossing under Rachna Nagar police station area on Friday.

Police claimed that the man committed suicide, but the identity of the deceased. According to the police, the man fell or was hit by a speeding train was not ascertained and locals informed the police.

On the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started further investigation.
