Vidisha police has seized a haul of liquor (spirit) worth over Rs 1 crore from Kalapatha trisection in the wee hours on Sunday.
Acting on a tip off, regarding a truck unloading spirit used in making liquor at Kalapatha trisection, police acted swiftly and raided the place where truck was parked and nabbed three persons while three managed to escape.
The nabbed were identified as Pappu Thakur (28), Saudan Singh (50) and Kamlesh Thakur (44) while three who managed to escape were identified as Devi Singh Kuchbandia of Sherpur, Anil Kanjar of Rajgarh and Nana Mogia of Ratlam.
During the investigation police found that the Devi Singh was involved in the whole dealing of liquor as he is local liquor dealer.
The truck bearing registration number MH18M6421 and car bearing registration number MP37C1278 were seized from the spot.
Car was having three 50 litre cans and filled with liquor and nozzle pipe were also found in the car.
Four drums carrying 200 lt each filled with spirit were recovered from the spot while around 22,000 lt was seized from the truck. The liquor (spirit), truck and car were worth Rs 1.32 crore were seized in the operation.
The miscreants were nabbed in the wee hours on Sunday after filing liquor cans and waiting for vehicle to transport it but police nabbed the accused.
Details of the nabbed accused and liquor seized would be searched in the further investigation.
