Nuapada district’s Komna Tehsildar Suresh Kumar Nanda died in a road mishap near Nayagarh on Saturday. Nanda’s driver also sustained multiple injuries in the accident.
As per reports, Nanda was on his way to Bhubaneswar for some election-related works when his car had a head-on collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction on the Nuagaon-Sorada road in Nayagarh district.
Following the collision between the two vehicles, Nanda died on the spot.
Nanda, who hails from Patnagarh of Balangir, was posted as Komna Tehsildar from May 2018.
He was recently appointed as the Additional Returning Officer for Nuapada district.
Police have started investigation into the incident and send the body for post-mortem.
