INFBW president and INTUC national vice-president Dr Rama Chandra Khuntia has been elected as international vice-chairman for BWI for Asia Pacific Region from 2019 to 2024.
In the international conference held from December 24 to 26 at Perth, South Australia, Dr Khuntia in his speech strongly criticised the anti-labour policies of the Governments of Australia, Indonesia and South Korea and their anti-labour attitude towards trade union movement.
Dr Khuntia also took a dig at the Central Government’s decision to keep four Labour Codes in place of 44 Labour Acts, privatisation and disinvestment in central public sector undertakings. He said the central trade unions strongly oppose the anti-labour policy of Central Government for which they are going for a 2-day strike from January 8, 2020.
