To strengthen the Congress, former Chief Minister late Janaki Ballav (JB) Patnaik’s son Prithvi Ballav Patnaik has been camping in Begunia block in Khordha district for the last three days. According to sources, the Congress is in a sleepy mode in Begunia block where Janaki Ballav had once a very strong organisation. As no other leader came to reorganise the party there, Prithvi Ballav has taken the lead. However, workers are still to take him into confidence.
During his visits to gram panchayats, it has been witnessed that people share memories of Janaki Ballav’s leadership with him. Some workers are also of the opinion that Prithvi Ballav may not be able to unite the party in the region.
