AK Singh is new SRM at CBI
Ajay Kumar Singh took the post of new Senior Regional Manager of the Ranchi area of Central Bank of India (CBI) situated in Jharkhand on Thursday. Singh was earlier working as Assistant General Manager in Ballard Estate Branch, Mumbai. He became senior regional manager of Ranchi area on promotion.
‘High BP is silent killer’
High blood pressure or hypertension is a ‘silent killer’ because it often has no obvious symptoms but can cause cardiovascular and other complications, and even death. Speaking on the subject, Dr. P. C. Runnu, MBBS, DTM&H, MS (Anatomy) , Dip Cardiology (Royal College of Physicians, UK), said, “Today, doctors are seeing a rising number of young patients with high blood pressure. A sedentary lifestyle is one of the leading factors that contributes to this increasing incidence along with a poor diet, lack of exercise and work-related stress. People must get their blood pressure levels checked regularly, more so if their levels are elevated. They should also take the necessary steps to manage their levels.” Dr. Runnu also cited a recent study which showed that 17.9% of adults between 15 and 49 years in Jharkhand had hypertension.
