Former Managing Director of Nagrik Aapurti Nigam (NAN), Indian Administrative Services officer and one of the accused in the Public Distribution System (PDS) scam, Dr AniL Tuteja was granted anticipatory bail in the multi-crore scam by Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur on Monday.
Advocate of Tuteja, Piyush Bhatia, informed media persons in Raipur that the Court of Justice R.P. Sharma granted his client the bail on Monday.
“The court granted the bail on the ground that the FIR was not filed against Tuteja and only supplementary charge-sheet was filed against him and that too after the long period of two and half years”, he said.
The alleged Rs 36000 crore- PDS scam was exposed in February 2015 when ACB and EOW sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at 25 premises of Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited and residences of its officials.
