Three rooms of a thatched house of one Manikar Naik of Purunapani village in Pallahara Tehsil were charred on Friday night.
As per sources, clothes, utensils and other domestic articles were reduced to ashes. After being informed, Batisuan RI Itismita Panigrahi reached the spot and provided relief to the family.
His entire family is now staying in open field, added sources.
Pallahara Sub-Collector Ajit Pradhan said after an inquiry it was found that Manikar cannot avail the Government benefits over some reasons.
Later the Gram Panchayat Sarpanch gave 20 kg of rice. Manikar on Saturday also approached to the Sub-Collector and received Rs 2,500 from the Red Cross fund, which is insufficient.
