Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday launched a scheme under which people having an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh will be given Rs 6,000 per year.
The 'Mukhya Mantri Parivar Samridhi Yojna' was launched by Khattar at a function in Panchkula and aims to benefit the economically weaker sections. The launch of the scheme comes ahead of the Haryana Assembly polls, due in October.
Under the scheme, low income families with an annual income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh and who own up to two hectares of land will get financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per annum, Khattar said.
Addressing a press conference at Panchkula, Khattar said that the scheme has been launched to increase the standard of living of poor people. He said the head of family would have to fill a simple form for registration under this scheme giving details about the profession of family members and income etc. Apart from this, he would also have to choose available social security options for the family members.
Khattar said the State Government has started the registration for the Parivar Pehchan Patra in the State. After the complete exercise, each family would be issued a unique ID. Under this program, the details of each family is being taken and the golden data so collected would be utilized by all departments for giving benefits under various schemes run by them. No department would prepare their own data for this purpose, he added.
He said as per the latest figures, 3,79,643 printouts has so far been taken from the families. He said that Ids of 1,28,596 family have been updated and about 90,000 new families have been added. In this way, information of 2,18,890 families have been updated.
