Setting eyes on party’s ‘Mission 2019’, the ruling BJP in Haryana will kick start its election campaign in February for the general polls.
Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah are scheduled to visit Haryana next month ahead of crucial Lok Sabha polls. While Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Haryana’s Kurukshetra on February 12 to address “Swachh Shakti 2019” programme, Amit Shah is expected to visit the State in the last week of February to review poll preparations.
The saffron party has planned a string of events including motorbike yatras, Kamal Jyoti Vikas Abhiyan, Shakti Kendra Sammelans to reach out to the voters in Haryana.
The Chief Minister Manohar Lal has directed all party MLAs to actively participate in various party programmes to connect with the people of Haryana.
As per the schedule chalked out by the BJP, Shakti Kendra Sammelans will be held on February 9, 10 and 27 to strengthen the ground level structure of the party in the state.
The Sammelan will be held in Ambala on February 9, Gurugram on February 10 and Hisar on February 27 to gear up party’s cadre ahead of elections.
Apart from this, Kamal Jyoti Vikash Abhiyan will be carried out on February 12 on the day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the State. Under this campaign, the party has decided to give the party poll symbol (Lotus) -shaped lamps to the beneficiaries of various Government schemes in the State with a request to light them in the evening.
Under this campaign, the party targets to reach out to lakhs of beneficiaries under Government schemes of the BJP led Central and Haryana Governments.
The saffron party has also planned to conduct motorcycle yatras in all 90 Assembly constituencies on March 2. The party will also organise ‘Youth Parliament and ‘Intellectual Meeting’ in all 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in Haryana.
“The plan to organise various party programmes was discussed during the Haryana BJP legislative meeting held under Chief Minister Manohar Lal on late Tuesday evening, said a senior party leader.
“During the meeting, the Chief Minister also asked the Cabinet Ministers and MLAs to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on February 24 alongwith general public,” he said.
In view of upcoming general polls, 2019, Manohar Lal also directed the MLAs to get the development works in their constituencies completed before the model code of conduct is enforced.
The MLAs were also apprised about the visit of Prime Minister Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah to Haryana next month.
Amit Shah’s visit is aimed at reviewing the poll preparations.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister will address “Swachh Shakti 2019” programme in Kurukshetra which will be attended by women sarpanches from across the country.
More than 10,000 panchayat representatives and office-bearers of the party are likely to attend the programme. The Prime Minister will also give away Swachh Shakti awards to top women achievers at the Kurukshetra event.
