Polling started at 7 am on Tuesday in Gotegaon Assembly segment of the district under Mandla parliamentary constituency for Lok Sabha Election-2019. Eighty-year-old disabled Savitri Bai Dabbu Nauriya reached the Sahajpura polling booth of Gotegaon assembly segment on a wheelchair and voted enthusiastically. Looking at her spirit towards strengthening democracy, other voters are also taking inspiration from her. Savitri Bai was given the facility of voting at the polling station without queue. Similarly, 96-year-old Jeevanlal reached Malah Pipariya polling booth on a wheelchair and cast his vote. The zeal with which he came to vote even at this age was worth a watch. Krishna Bai Gokal Prasad, 90, also reached the Basanpani polling booth on a wheelchair and cast her vote. According to the Election Commission's directive this time, the district administration has made special arrangements for the elderly, disabled, pregnant women and lactating women.
