As part of static monitoring for Lok Sabha polls, 2019, the Raigarh district team on Saturday seized gold jewellery worth Rs 16 lakh, taking the total seizure since the launch of the drive to Rs 93.82 lakh in the state.
State-wide monitoring of transportation of materials, liquor, cash and others are underway as part of election model code of conduct. The teams of police, excise, and income tax officials are conducting the extensive inspection of suspicious vehicles.
Till March 29, cash amounting to Rs 38.41 lakh, 2,761 litres of liquor costing Rs 5.38 lakh along with laptop, saree, pressure cooker worth Rs 33.51 lakh, were seized.
