Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, along with the State’s Labour Minister Harak Singh Rawat, inaugurated a 100-bed ESIC Hospital at Rudrapur on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, Gangwar said that the 100-bed ESIC Hospital has been constructed in an area of five acres alongwith 32 staff quarters at an approximate cost of Rs 97.72 crore.
To begin with the OPD services are being provided. However, in due course, the hospital will be equipped with facilities like operation theatre, casualty block, radiology, orthopaedic clinic, psychiatric clinic, general medicine and many more for the insured persons and their dependants. This hospital would be run exclusively for the benefit of insured persons and their family members covered under ESI Scheme.
He said that the Government of India has taken the decision of historic reduction of ESI contributions rates being paid by employees and employers covered under ESI Scheme from 6.5 per cent to 4 per cent. This reduction will benefit about 3.6 crore employees and 12.85 lakh employers. He also informed that Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has taken many decisions like opening of underutilised ESIC Hospitals and Dispensary-cum-Branch Office (DCBO) pan India and starting of Scheme Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana.
Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat, Rudrapur mayor Rampal Singh and the local MLA Rajesh Shukla also addressed the gathering on the occasion. Welcoming the inauguration of the hospital, the public representatives thanked the Minister for the development.
