Five members of Bhagat gang held, 6 robbery cases solved

With the arrest of five persons, the members of  infamous ‘Bhagat Singh gang’, the sleuths of Crime Branch on Wednesday claimed to have solved six cases of robbery and snatching in Delhi. Police have also recovered 47 stolen mobile phones, one car used in commission of the crime from the possession of the accused.

The arrested accused were identified as, Bhagat Singh (35), Kuldeep Singh (25), Jujhar singh (34), Bunty Singh (30) all residents of Chander Vihar in Delhi and Jagjit Singh (38) a resident of Vikas Nagar in Delhi.

“A tip off was received regarding a gang involved in organized theft of mobile phones. On Monday a specific input was received that the accused would be coming near Mangol Puri Flyover following which a trap was laid and they were apprehended,” said Ajeet Kumar Singla, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch.

“During interrogation they disclosed that, the target persons during music concerts, fares at pan India level, where a large crowd congregates. Recently they had targeted a Music Concert held in Chandigarh,” said Additional CP.

“The gang after stealing the mobile phone they used to sell these mobile phones in various areas of Delhi.

The accused were arrested under section 41.1 (D) of CrPC and were produced before the local court.

They have been taken to Chandigarh on transit remand. Efforts are continuing to nab the receiver of stolen mobile phones,” Additional CP added.
