East Singhbhum district administration and city police have jointly planned an action plan for convenience of picnickers and New Year revelers on December 31 and January 1.

A police official informed that they have decided to enforce curb on entry of heavy vehicles to prevent mishap on city roads as heavy vehicles carrying industrial goods ply with speed to meet their deadlines to various industrial units located in the city. The no entry curb will start from 6 am (morning) of December 31 and continue till 2 am (wee-hours of January 1) and will again be enforced from 6 am (morning) of January 1 till midnight.

All the five traffic police officials have been asked to stop plying of heavy vehicles while the Mango traffic police strength has been increased to ensure that heavy vehicles are not allowed entry to city from either Dimna roundabout or Pardih roundabout along the  NH-33.

Meanwhile, administration issued a circular for deployment of trained divers associated with various NGOs and civil defence unit near water points which are thronged by picnickers.

“Though we had already issued circular for deployment of magistrates along with static police force to ensure law and order at picnic spots and acting on the directive of the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner () we have decided to depute divers near water bodies to prevent any drowning incidents,” said an official.
