For the first time, a tower engine rolled out on Saturday on the 82-kilometer-long Haridaspur-Paradeep railway line that covers Jajpur, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts.
“We rolled out a tower engine from Haridaspur to Kendrapada for testing the electricity connection of the railway line,” said Haridaspur- Paradeep railway line project Managing Director Prasant Kumar Mishra.
“We have already laid a 64-km long railway track and 18 km of more will be completed soon. All the works will be completed by December 2019,” said Mishra. On completion of the project, the distance between Daitari-Banspani iron ore belt and the Paradip Port would be reduced almost by half, added Mishra.
