Under Chief Minister Urban Functional Digital Literacy programme ‘Ghadbo Digital Chhattisgarh’, the online evaluation, began on Wednesday and it will continue until October 31.
For the first time in Chhattisgarh as part of creating digital awareness among the urban slum dwellers, the scheme has been launched through 36 centres across the state.
School education department Principal Secretary Gaurav Dwivedi and State Literacy Mission Authority (SLMA) Director and Member Secretary S. Prakash are monitoring the implementation of the scheme.
SLMA Nodal Officer Prakash Kumar Pandey stated that under the Chief Minister Urban Functional Literacy programme, slum dwellers between 15 to 60 years, through e-educators are imparted one-month training on use of digital equipment. Under the digital literacy programme, training is given on operation of computer, mobile, other digital devices, use of computer parts, information on tablet and its uses, use of internet, use of search engine, use of email, social media like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.
Additional to it the different services like online payment, online booking of railway, bus ticket, mobile recharge, TV recharge, electricity bill payment and filling of the forms are also taught.
Apart from digital aspects, subject specialists also deal on subjects through training in personality development, awareness on election, financial and legal literacy, good parenting, self-defence, skill development, duty of citizens and values in life.
Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) is holding the online evaluation. Till date, a total of 2819 participants have cleared the examination in the state.
