After receiving heavy snowfall and rainfall for two consecutive days, dry weather is likely to prevail across the state on Thursday, according to the State Meteorological Centre. The sky is to remain mainly clear to partly cloudy on the day, as per the forecast.
The officials from the state Met centre, severe cold day condition was observed in the state on Wednesday. A majority of areas had received heavy rainfall while places like Mussoorie, Tehri and Mukteshwar had received a good snow shower. Pithoragarh, however, received light snowfall on the day.
In Dehradun, it rained intermittently throughout the day and the sky remained overcast. However, the city would have a dry climate on Thursday. As per the forecast, the sky would remain mainly clear to a partly cloudy on the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle in the neighbourhood of 22 degree Celsius and 6 degree Celsius respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various parts of the state on Wednesday were 15.4 degree Celsius and 9.3 degree Celsius in Dehradun, 17.9 degree Celsius and 12.0 degree Celsius in Pantnagar, 1.6 degree Celsius and -1.7 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar, 2.5 degree Celsius and 0.4 degree Celsius in New Tehri.
