Digvijaya seeks to meet ‘unresponsive' MP Ministers

Saturday, 31 August 2019 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

In a letter written to the Ministers in Kamal Nath Government, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has shown displeasure over not paying any heed to his (Singh’s) recommendations since the Government came to power.

In the letter, Singh categorically mentioned that since January he had forwarded several letters to the Ministers regarding transfers and other Government work and had also inked separate letters to Ministers seeking to know the action taken on his missives and instances where action wasn’t possible on his recommendations.

Apparently hinting that no action was taken on his pleas, Singh urged the ministers that they should offer him appointment so that he could discuss issues of his letters.

Several Congress MLAs in the past have openly claimed that ministers don’t listen to their demands and recommendations. Couple of days ago, Rajesh Shukla, the Samajwadi Party MLA who has extended support to Kamal Nath Government had accused the Forest minister Umang Singhar of insulting him when he went to meet the minister and his staff made him wait for one hour and half. The staff also did not ask me for water all this while, Shukla had told the media.

BSP MLA Rambai Singh who is supporting Kamal Nath government has spoken against the ministers in the past.

Several Congress MLAs have raised this issue of ministers not paying heed to the issues of their region in party meetings before Chief Minister Kamal Nath and a letter from senior leader Digvijaya Singh has only endorsed such earlier reports.

However, Singh in the past also has slammed Forest minister Umang Singhar and Home minister Bala Bachchan over clean chits assigned to BJP in tree plantation scam and Mandsaur firing on farmers.
