Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi has suspended station-in charge of Kalsi police station Vipin Bahuguna and inspector Sandeep. According to local police, the step was taken following repeated complaints of illicit supply of liquor from the area.
After the seven deaths in Pathariya Peer area at Neshville Road in the provisional State Capital, the Dehradun SSP had issued notices to all police stations stating that if complaints of illicit supply of liquor came from any area, strict action will be taken against the police station in-charge of the area.
Following the complaints from Kalsi area, the investigation of the complaints was given to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Parmendra Dobhal, who on Saturday submitted his report to SSP Joshi.
It is important to mention here that, station in-charge of Dehradun Kotwali, Shishupal Negi and post in-charge of Dhara Chowki, Kulwant Singh were also suspended earlier from active duty following the Pathariya Peer deaths.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the Pathariya Peer case in which so far seven people have died, district police have already arrested the accused including Gaurav Singh, ex-councillor Ajay Sonkar alias Ghonchu and Mahesh alias Machhar.
Local people of the colony had also accused Yogendra Negi alias Raja stating his involvement in the illicit liquor supply.
Police also arrested accused Yogendra on Friday.
