Cyber Crime Branch, Bhopal, has nabbed Indore-based fraudster who duped the victim of Rs 15 lakh in the name of returning Rs 4 lakh per month by using company’s application.
The accused, posing as Indore-based MMTCS Company’s director Mukesh Kumar Sardar, was nabbed by cyber crime after he duped Ratnesh Kumar.
Police said that the victim was lured by the accused of return of Rs 4 lakh per month in return of his investment of Rs 15 lakh. After the investment, the victim asked for Rs 4 lakh which the accused initially evaded with excuses and later stopped all communication after which the victim lodged complaint with the police.
In the complaint, the victim stated that accused posed as director of MMTCS company and lured him of return of Rs 4 lakh per month on downloading LookChup application and to like and share the downloaded link. The accused provided a fake agreement to the victim.
Then, the police started searching and tracking the mobile number used by the accused and nabbed him from Indore.
The accused used to take the victims to Indore and would organise meeting with people who have earned big through the application.
Police have recovered mobile phone, SIM card from the accused. The police registered a case under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 294 and 506 of the IPC.
The victim works with a smart value company which deals in multi-level marketing in Bhopal.
