Koraput Congress MP Saptagiri Ulaka on Friday raised in Lok Sabha the issue of Haridaspur Panchayat Extension Officer (PEO) Smitarani Biswal’s death and demanded a CBI inquiry into it.
He said Biswal’s death is mysterious case as the facts about it are yet to be ascertained and the way in which police are investigating it. It has been declared a case of suicide by none other than the accused. The police have made character assassination of the deceased.
On the other hand, Puri MP Pinaki Misra criticised Ulaka for raising the issue in Lok Sabha saying that it is ‘purely a State matter’ and sub-judice. The matter has already been discussed in the State Assembly, he said.
