A delegation of Congress leaders met the chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh and demanded Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into alleged irregularities in the purchase of new fleet of roadways buses.
The delegation led by former MLA, Rajkumar requested the CS that inquiry should be ordered without delay on the purchase of the buses. Rajkumar said that the Uttarakhand transport corporation had recently purchased a fleet of new buses but these new buses are suffering from various defects.
He said that the investigation is needed on the apparent irregularities in the purchase of new buses. The former MLA said that CBI inquiry should be ordered for a free and fair investigation in the scam in the purchase of new fleet of buses and the action should be initiated against those responsible for purchase of these buses.
He said that the government which boasts off zero tolerance on corruption should ensure that proper investigation in the alleged scam should be done. The Congress leader also raised the issue of the acquisition of land of old roadways bus stand located on the Haridwar road. He said that the prices offered to the Uttarakhand transport corporation are too low.
