The people of Ganjam district in general and beach town Gopalpur in particular have a reason to cheer as the much-awaited Gopalpur Port would be dedicated to the nation by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday. Gopalpur Ports Limited CEO & Director Capt Sandeep Agarwal, informing this in a Press release, said this initiative would begin a new era in the domain of marine logistics.
State Minister of Transport & Commerce Dr Nrusingh Charan Sahu, Brahmapur MP Sidhanta Mahapatra, Gopalpur MLA Dr Pradeep Panigrahi, and Chhatrapur MLA Dr Priyanshu Pradhan would also attend the event as guests, informed Gopalpur Ports Limited Corporate Communication Assistant Manager Mukesh Lal Joshi.
Inauguration of the port ahead of the upcoming elections is considered as quite politically significant, say observers.
