Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated a number of developmental projects worth Rs 1,250 crore in the district. Patnaik interacted with 6,729 SHGs that have received over Rs 10 crore seed money, 6,735 SHGs provided Rs 2.20 crore for digital empowerment and 11 block-level federation members, who have been given Rs 2.75 crore.
He directed 144 SHGs to construct Mission Shakti houses in the district. Besides, Patnaik laid the foundation stone of 48 projects worth Rs 532,58,51,000 and launched 41 projects worth Rs 204,84,37,000 during his visit to Rayagada.
Attending the women empowerment convention at Kaliguda, he distributed bicycles to 1,500 construction workers, the Madhubabu pension to 1,189 beneficiaries and forest land rights to 1297 persons.
Notably, the Chief Minister reached the venue late by nearly an hour as his chopper was delayed due to an emergency landing at Jeypore airstrip due to the adverse weather conditions. Later, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a release stated that the chopper that was scheduled to land at Lanjigarh was diverted to Jeypore due to bad weather.
