Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel formally inaugurated Suposhan Abhiyan on Friday at his residence during Teeja-Pora celebration.
He distributed Suposhan kits to all the women who had come to attend the programme from various parts of the state.
Suposhan Kit included seasonal fruits, dates, pulses, chickpeas, spinach etc.
Baghel informed the women about the importance of this suposhan kit. It is noteworthy that as a special initiative for malnutrition eradication, Suposhan Abhiyan is being conducted in few districts. On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 this year, Suposhan Abhiyan will be launched at state-level.
The State government has set the target to eradicate malnutrition from the state in next three years.
On the occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhendiya, Scheduled Caste, Tribal, Backward Class and Minority Development Minister Dr Premsai Singh, Food and Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, Member of Rajya Sabha Chhaya Verma, MLAs- Kuldeep Juneja, Vikas Upadhyay, Sangita Sinha, Ex-Mayor Dr Kiranmayee Nayak and many other public representatives were present.
