Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat directed that all the departments concerned should work in a coordinated manner for execution of various governmental schemes. Developmental works should be executed with transparency and completed in a time-bound manner, he directed.
The CM issued these instructions while chairing a meeting to conduct department-wise review of work on announcements made by him and execution of schemes in Doiwala Vidhan Sabha constituency represented by him.
Rawat directed Dehradun district magistrate SA Murugesan to review works being undertaken by departments concerned in Doiwala area and provide details in case additional funds are required for the same. Expressing satisfaction at works being done by various departments, he directed that they should focus on completing cent per cent of the work. Approving a sum of Rs 23 crore for development of roads in the area, he directed that the work of constructing and reconstruction of roads should be expedited.
In order to lessen the pressure of consistently rising population in urban areas, focus should be laid on widening of the roads while also ensuring that the roads last longer. Rawat also directed officials concerned to prepare proposal for construction of bridge between Thano and Bhogpur while also focusing on additional roads for Raipur, Nathvawala, Doiwala, Miyawala and Gularghati areas.
Officials informed that of the 94 words approved under Public Works Department, 68 have been completed while work is under progress on the remaining tasks.
The chief minister directed national highway officials regarding construction of underpass at Miyawala intersection, widening of Jogiwala intersection and redressal of the traffic jam experienced in the Doiwala bazaar area.
Directing officials of the Irrigation Department to expedite work on construction of the Suryadhar lake, he also told them to look for possibility of creating more such lakes. In addition to beautification of canals, roads and footpaths should be built along them, he said. Rawat directed the power department officials to expedite construction of the Ranipur power house.
He also directed extensive publicity of the Ujjwala Yojana being implemented by the state government to benefit families with annual income of up to Rs 2.50 lakh. Reviewing the health department’s work, he said that foundation stone should be laid in the first week of February for the 300-bed hospital to be built in Harrawala.
Further, he directed Peyjal Nigam and Jal Sansthan to work in coordination to ensure adequate water supply during the summer.
Rawat also reviewed works of the education department, animal husbandry, civil supply, social welfare and other departments.
Dehradun district magistrate SA Murugesan, senior superintendent of police Nivedita Kukreti and other officials were also present in the meeting.
