The rustic backdrop of Gauhar Mahal is embedded with colourful lights and fizzy shades of Christmas. The Christmas Mela is evoking a great response by the shopaholics of the city.
The Christmas Mela is put up at Gauhar Mahal where the shopaholics have an opportunity to shop for Christmas. Here on Monday, a huge crowd was noticed at the venue marking the second last day of exhibition-cum-sale. A variety of lights and decorative items are at display at the exhibition- cum-sale.
The shopaholics of the city were seen captivated towards the colourful and fizzy shades of the State, as the mela also showcased the most renowned dress materials of the State i.e. Chanderi and Maheshwari, the huge collection of handloom materials made up of jute, paper-mache and much more.
The exhibition is all about handicraft and handloom material in which self help groups (SHGs) participated from across the State. The capturing items at the fair are the tribal art, from Warli paintings to Gond all are capturing the eyes of the buyers.
The fair is much exotic for the female buyers as a lot of stuff of home decoration was also available at the fair. Not only this, but, an amzing collection of imitation jewellery and colorful foot wears also attracted the female buyers.
Few separate stalls of home decoration pieces made out of red clay remained the major attraction of the fair. The stalls displayed wind shrines, and other pieces that much wooed the people there. The exhibition cum sale will be on view till Tuesday.
