After former Punjab Minister Navjot Kaur Sidhu and former Union Minister Manish Tewari applying for a party ticket, it was the turn of the veteran Pawan Kumar Bansal to formally seek a ticket through an application to the local Congress chief.

Bansal, a former Railway Minister filed his application for a party ticket with Union Territory’s Congress chief Pradeep Chabra. Bansal is a veteran of city politics while Navjot Kaur and Tewari are first time claimants from the seat.

Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat is presently represented by BJP MP Kirron Kher.
