Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a decision taken at the meeting of Bastar Development Authority, held at Jagdalpur on Thursday decided to simplify the process of issuing the caste certificate to state residents.
He also announced to constitute a Staff Selection Board in Bastar to provide employment opportunities to local youths in government services.
After the public representatives and others drew the attention that people are facing problem in getting caste certificates, Chief Minister announced that the process will be further simplified for the local residents.
A child will get the caste certificate at the time of birth itself if the father is already a caste certificate holder, he said.
The local residents of Chhattisgarh mainly in tribal areas had been facing problem in getting caste certificates for educational and other purpose. Due to several administrative hitches, the problem has been persisting since the formation of the state in 2000.
The successive governments had tried to ease the process but could not resolved it. The government started easing the process by holding camps at school level to issue the certificates.
