A 36-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of his two mobile phones and Rs 3,200 cash by four miscreants near Lambakheda under Eitkhedi police station area on Tuesday.
According to the police the victim Sajid alias Bablu was robbed by four miscreants while on his way to Lambakheda along with his friend Zakir in the night on Tuesday.
The victim reported the incident to the police after he and his friend managed to escape and reach the police station.
The victim and his friend were assaulted and were injured in his hands and back.
The victim lodged a complaint with the police and in his complaint he stated that the incident took place at around 10 pm give lift to a person when he along with Zakir was on his way to Lambakheda and after a little distance three more persons appeared and started to assault the person and when the victims tried to stop them miscreants assaulted them and robbed.
The miscreants tried to take the person forcefully and later left the spot leaving the bike but after sometime they came and took the bike.
The total loss in the robbery is around Rs 25,000 claimed the victim. The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The victim is a resident of Bhanpur and is involved in dairy work.
Police have intensified the search for the miscreants. The nearby areas of the spot would be searched and habitual criminals of the area would be quizzed during the investigation.
