Chhattisgarh BJP president Vikram Usendi termed the passing of triple talaq bill in Rajya Sabha as a historical moment on Tuesday.
He said the earlier Congress-led governments had been following the appeasement policy due to which Muslim women suffered the most. Today, the Muslim women have registered a major win against the century-old traditions.
Recalling Shah Bano Begum case, Usendi said Congress leadership committed a major unwarranted mistake in independent India. Now, not a single Shah Bano will have to roam around for justice.
He added that Modi government since day one had been following the policy if ‘No appeasement, but justice for all’. Usendi hoped the bill will empower Muslim women but also make them more secure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done a great service to humanity and all the parliamentarians have to be appreciated for passing the bill, he added.
