The BJD on Monday announced Bed Prakash Agarwalla’s wife Savitri as its nominee for the Patkura Assembly seat in Kendrapada district.
The elections to the constituency are scheduled to be held on May 19.
Elections to the Patkura Assembly segment were countermanded due to the death of BJD candidate Bed Prakash. Patkura under Kendrapada Parliamentary constituency was to go to polls on April 29.
BJD president Naveen Patnaik announced Savitri’s name here in the evening.
“Savitri Agrawalla, widow of Bed Prakash Agrawalla, will be the BJD candidate for the by-poll to the Patkura Assembly seat,” Patnaik announced.
