State Planning Board Deputy Chairman Bishnu Charan Das has condoled the deaths of veteran socialist and former Defence Minister George Fernandes and veteran tribal leader and former Odisha Minister Chaitanya Prasad Majhi. Das said, “Fernandes had supported me by writing a novel on the background of the torture done by the Congress Government during the agitation over the rape and murder of Chhabirani in Jagatsinghpur district.”
“I pray Lord Jagannath that may souls of Fernandes and Majhi rest in peace,” he added.
