Social organisation Creative Arts felicitated eminent persons in Paralakhemundi in memory of legendary leader Biju Patnaik.
Journalists Nabin Gantayat and KCH Ratnam, horn-craft expert Neelamani Maharana, dancer Ganesh Maharana, artist Purna Chandra Rath, athlete Rekha Rani Deo, social worker Ranjan Panda, writer Purna Chandra Mahapatro, litterateurs Kali Kinkar Mishra and Uma Kanta Padhy, besides Debendra Das, Raghunath Patro and Arjun Nayak were felicitated with the “Biju Smruti Samman.”
Presenting the award as chief guest of the function, BJD leader Rama Chandra Panda said today’s politician should inculcate the spirit of tolerance and respect the Opposition which was the salient feature of Bijubabu’s political life. Bijubabu never misused or abused power, he told.
The meeting was presided over by former Chairman of Parlakhemundi Municipality and president of Creative Arts, Nrusingha Charan Patnaik. Former MLA K Narayan Rao among others spoke.
