State Capital simmered at 44 degree Celsius on Monday during the day. Intense hot weather conditions were witnessed from the morning hours.
The early morning hours were also with hot and humid conditions which peaked in the afternoon and continued at extreme levels in the evening.
Day temperature was recorded 3.3 degree Celsius above the normal temperature in the state capital at 43.7 degree Celsius while night temperature has decreased to 23.4 degree Celsius.
Weatherman told that a system over North West Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring regions persists. Cylconic storm FANI over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbouring regions has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. Changes induced by these systems would brought will be seen in the form of relief from harsh hot weather conditions and temperature would decrease. However, significant changes are less likely to occur in Madhya Pradesh.
Warning of heat wave conditions has been issued by Met department for Sagar, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Gwalior, Chambal and Hoshangabad divisions in the next 24 hours. The highest day temperature was recorded at 47.4 degree Celsius in Khargone.
Sagar, Hoshangabad and Indore divisions recorded hot wave conditions in the past 24 hours. Khajuraho, Damoh, Nowgong and Khandwa recorded day temperature at 45 degree Celsius.
