The Additional Sessions Judge Ajanta Sadangi, convicting a murder accused for life, slapped Rs 10,000 penalty and in default another three months jail term on Friday.
The convict Budhhiram Singh of Baisinga area under Mayurbhanj district had killed Dinabandhu Hansda of Basta area of Baleswar district on February 15, 2016 owing to previous feud. While he committed the crime near a pond, after committing the murder, he fled the scene taking the mobile phone of the deceased.
The locals after spotting the body informed to the police. Bhadan Hansda, brother of the deceased, had lodged an FIR with police the next day.
Police after investigating the case had arrested accused Buddhiram. The court after crossing examining 29 witnesses and verifying 19 documents sentenced the accused for life on Friday.
