Sunday, 30 June 2019 | PNS | Chandigarh

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday said that the model code of conduct for the State Assembly elections could be enforced from September 10 and the elections might be held by October 15.

“The party workers should not be over confident and should work hard for the forthcoming elections,” Manohar Lal said while speaking at a party meet in Rohtak.

He said that we have set a target to win 75 seats out of total 90 in the Haryana Assembly and all party workers should contribute to achieve this target.

Claiming that the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress has derailed in the state, Manohar Lal said that BJP has a strong organizational structure and there is no comparison between the organizational structure of the BJP and any other political party.

The State Government developed all the regions, sections and castes equally, and fulfilled the resolution of 'Haryana Ek-Haryanvi EK'. Priority was given to the welfare of  disadvantaged and affected people, Manohar Lal said.

He said that equitable development has been carried out in the areas of all MLAs irrespective of the fact to which party they belong.

We have opened the doors of jobs on merit basis for the youth of the state. Initiatives such as Women Police Stations, Ujjwala Scheme, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao have been taken during our government’s tenure, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP’s national secretary, Anil Jain, who is also in-charge of party affairs in Haryana asked party workers in Haryana to remain grounded to achieve victory in the October assembly polls.

“Victory brings arrogance. However, without becoming arrogant, the BJP workers in Haryana should work on the ground to ensure a record-breaking victory for the party,” he said.

Referring to the BJP's victory on all 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state, Jain said, “This victory should be considered big but not supreme.”

“We should take everyone along," he said, stressing the need to strengthen the party at the booth level.

He asked the party leaders and workers to strive for at least 75 seats in the assembly elections.

, the BJP has 48 MLAs in the 90-member State Assembly.

It was decided at the two-day meet, which concluded on Saturday, that the

Chief Minister would hold a “Jan Sampark Rath Yatra” in the state. The “Rath Yatra” will be held in the state to highlight the achievements of BJP

led Central and State Government.

Also, a nine-member vision document committee has been constituted under the leadership of Agriculture Minister OP Dhankar.

The party has also decided to hold a state level sammelan to strengthen the organizational structure in Haryana and boost the morale of panna pramukhs appointed in the state.

During the meet, INLD's senior Rohtak leaders Satish Nandal and Surat Singh joined the BJP.

The meet was attended by all state BJP MPs, ministers, MLAs and working committee members.

Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala while speaking at the meeting, asked party workers to enroll at least 25 new volunteers at every both in the state.

“The BJP got 33 lakh new members last year. This target should further be increase by 20 per cent before the assembly polls,” he added.
