Apollo Day celebrated in Doon

The Managing Director (MD) of the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, P Shivkumar, has said that the lifestyle diseases like cardiovascular disease, hypertension, asthma and respiratory diseases and cancer are on rise in the country. India has the highest number of diabetic patients in the world. He was addressing a programme organised to celebrate Apollo day here on Friday. “We generally tend to ignore our health in our daily hustle and bustle. Having a healthy lifestyle and following a regular exercise regime is the need of the hour,’’ he said.

The group medical director and senior consultant, Dr Anupam Sibal said that the critical care practices in India have evolved significantly over the past decade.

The Apollo day was celebrated with a aim to educate people on critical care services.

The session highlighted the importance of providing holistic care for the patients whose conditions are life threatening and requires comprehensive care and constant monitoring.
